Now we do have an excellent alternative to paying our recurring electricity bills. What more the government will assist us in this venture and provide us tax credits and grants up to 30% for doing so.

Usage of solar power for energy needs is gaining enormous popularity. The installation is simple consisting of maintenance free solar panels that contain photovoltaic cells. These photovoltaic cells capture the solar rays and the semiconductors in them activate the electrons, producing electricity.

The installation could be done anywhere in the world as the required resources, the solar panels, inverter, batteries are available throughout. Further there is no maintenance cost except for changing the batteries once in 5-10 years.

The installation of this renewable source is carried out as a DIY (Do it yourself) project by many regular folks across the region through a step by step instruction manual.

The space requirements range from roof space of 100 sq ft for part conversion (up to 1kw for basic lighting and power requirement) to 1000 sq ft for a setup that covers the complete home energy requirements (up to 3 kw).

Home owners who don’t have flat roofs needn’t be upset as custom panels are developed by many manufacturers that suit inclined roof profiles.

Many people have apprehensions about the system’s production of electricity in inclement weather conditions, the production is a bit less during these times but with inverters having backup capacity up to around 19 kw, the complete home requirements are well met under all circumstances.

Masdar city, the complete carbon neutral, zero waste emission city, powered by renewable energy sources plans to save 15,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions every year. The city currently has a 10 MW capacity solar generation unit in operation.

Gives a chance to each one of us to contribute environmentally, as it help negate global warming and green house gas emissions associated with burning of fossil fuels.

The system could be installed and shared even between neighbours and there is a support provided by experts in place, if you need at any point in time.

Do we really enjoy paying the electricity bills month after month and sit back thinking why put in any effort to check out when better alternatives come by. http://www.tinyurl.com/greenpowerforu
